The situation
Monitoring around the clock, not just patrols
Surveillance at city scale that helps authorities lower crime rates, keep public transport safe and make everyday routes more comfortable through automated monitoring around the clock.
A typical deployment: zone recording nodes across the territory, backhaul to a control room with video wall and alarm workflow, ANPR on arterial corridors and entry points, and watchlist recognition at defined checkpoints.

What the platform delivers
Safer communities, safer transport, calmer traffic
Crime deterrence & prevention
Visible, monitored coverage across communities and municipal districts.
Public transport safety
From the depot to every bus and tram ride, on one platform.
Traffic monitoring
Speeding and red light violations surfaced in live reports.
Automated 24/7 operation
Continuous machine monitoring instead of manual patrols alone.
TRASSIR's recommended modules for public safety: Face Recognition, Fire & Smoke Detector, Sabotage Detector, ActiveSearch+, Crowd Detector
Reference deployment
Walk the city: from the junction to the control room
Streets and junctions
8 MP bullets give 4K scene coverage of junctions and public spaces, while PTZ speed domes with 25x zoom and IR to 150 m give operators an eye they can steer to any point of interest.
ANPR corridors
Motorized zoom domes frame plates on arterial roads. AutoTRASSIR flags stolen and wanted vehicles in automatic mode and builds detailed traffic reports from the same lanes.
Checkpoints
Face Recognition compares faces at defined checkpoints against watchlist databases, from any angle including profiles, with spoofing defense against photographs shown to the camera.
Zone nodes and the control room
NeuroStation servers record locally in each zone, up to 160 cameras per server with no resolution limits, and federate to a control room running maps, video wall and custom alarm scenarios. The platform scales to 175,000 cameras.
Match the problem to the module
| The problem you have | The module that answers it | How it answers |
|---|---|---|
| A wanted vehicle crosses town unseen | AutoTRASSIR | Detects stolen vehicles in automatic mode and logs every plate on the corridor with photos. |
| A person of interest passes a checkpoint | Face Recognition | Watchlist matching with degree of match scoring, from any angle including profiles. |
| A crowd builds before anyone calls it in | Crowd Detector | TRASSIR's recommended module for crowd monitoring in public safety deployments. |
| Fire starts in a market at night | Fire & Smoke Detector | Flame and smoke detection from video, watching around the clock. |
| Dead cameras are discovered weeks later | Health monitoring | System health monitoring of all equipment, with optional TRASSIR CMS reporting. |
| A camera is covered, blinded or turned | Sabotage Detector | Flags tampering the moment it happens, feeding the same alarm workflow. |
Governance & compliance
Public surveillance deserves governance to match
Data protection alignment
Deployment guidance aligned with Kenya's Data Protection Act and equivalent frameworks.
Retention by policy
Archive depths set by written policy, not by whatever the disks happened to hold.
Operator accountability
Access by role, rights for each user and full action audit, as the VMS provides.
Procurement lifecycle
Needs assessment → specifications → deployment → operator training → maintenance contracts.
Proof at scale
A platform already running at city size
A municipality should not be anyone's experiment. The numbers below are the platform's published record, and the local track record is Chasing Sun's own.
175,000
cameras in the largest distributed systems TRASSIR VMS scales to
15,000+
clients running the platform in 42 countries
99%
of surveillance cameras supported via native, RTSP and ONVIF integration

Questions city teams ask
Before the tender is written
How large can a single system grow?
TRASSIR VMS scales from a single camera to distributed systems with 175,000 cameras, so a phased city rollout never outgrows its platform.
Who gets to see what?
The VMS supports unlimited users with roles, groups and rights, and audits every action, so access maps to mandate and every review leaves a trace.
How do we find dead or blinded cameras?
System health monitoring watches all equipment, with optional TRASSIR CMS reporting, and Sabotage Detector flags cameras that are covered, blinded or moved.
Does every camera stream to the control room all day?
No. Recording stays local on each zone node; the control room pulls live views, alarms and archive reviews across the federation as operators need them.
What about data protection law?
Deployments are guided in alignment with Kenya's Data Protection Act and equivalent frameworks, with retention set by written policy rather than disk capacity.
How does procurement begin?
With a capability presentation, then needs assessment, specifications, deployment, operator training and maintenance contracts. Quotations usually come back within 48 hours.
